It was warm. The sun shined, the children played, the bees buzzed.  He sat in his room, simply sweating. The fan made a small amount of noise, and he almost shut it off. But he couldn’t. He was too hot. He checked the time, and upon seeing the small green digits on the hologram clock, he shot up, deciding to take a walk through his house. He traced his fingers along the frames of the dusty photos, relishing in the good memories of him and his three good friends. He walked through his room, kicking aside the clothes he had neglected to wash, because it wasn’t worth it. He dragged his fingers through the dust that had collected on the countertops, and opened his fridge. Nothing to eat, and the milk is spoiled. Doesn’t matter now, anyway. He chuckled to himself, despite the lack of humor in his thoughts. He sighed, falling to his knees, checking the time. It was unbearably hot, and it was only 2:57. He laughed aloud, ignoring the warning on all of the screens. He laughed aloud as the world caught fire, and with his last breath, he realized that he had chosen the wrong fate. But what are you supposed to do, when you know when the world is going to end?
