You had a difficult life. 'Had' being the keyword. Your fiancé had abused you sexually and physically and emotionally and the only reason you were out of that relationship was because you were halfway across the country now, living with your childhood friends Matt and Al who were nice enough to take you in- with the promise of free meals cooked by you. You hadn't told them about your prior living situation, and they hadn't asked. You were pretty sure they'd figure it out at some point though. Until then you were content to pretend that your past didn't exist.
Well the morning it happened you were just waiting for something bad to happen. You were making dinner when both boys got home, Al was extremely drunk.
"Hey bitch!" Al slurred out as you turned to greet them. You were shocked and slightly scared. The behavior reminded you of your ex's. Matt just rolled his eyes and went to go take off his boots. Al stumbled towards you, and you prepared to catch him but he just slapped your hands down and reached for your breast. You yelped and slapped his hand away. He got angry and he slapped you down. Just as Matt entered the room again. You had curled up into a defense ball and began to sob rather violently when Matt finally ran over to you. A gentle hand touched your shoulder and you flinched, attempting to crawl away as fast as possible. The the arms of the body that the hand belonged to only scooped you up into a huge hug which you gave up trying to worm out of after a few moments of failing to flail your way out. You had finally calmed down a half an hour later when you realized that you were safe. You looked up into Matt's eyes sniffling out an apology. He only hugged you tightly and refused to let you go until you told him why you were so scared. You started from the beginning.
You were young and 'in love'. Your boyfriend had just proposed and you had just said yes. It was only weeks after when he became abusive. He would hit you, rape you, tell you it was your fault, tell you he was doing it for your own good. You started to believe him. It got worse- he would bring his friends home, rape you with them, then act like it never happened. You left after a particularly rough night on your 7 year anniversary with him. You ended up at Matt's door step a week later.

Matt was silent for a while. He carried you to your room, and snuggled down with you- both of you silent. The next day Matt asked you for your ex's address, which you didn't give to him. Matt also kissed you a little bit. Al apologized, and you forgave him. After a week or so of him doing everything you asked. You and Matt were definitely a couple after a few weeks of cuddling with each other and awkward conversations about the weather. Matt often found himself researching your ex's location. The three of you turned into a strange little family. You were still healing, and having Matt to support you helped. He respected your boundaries. You were happy. Which was going to change soon.
